Yellow points
Most of the points that top ten riders might have gained by overtaking Van Aert as he dropped away from contention were lost to being passed on GC by O'Connor. There were 12 riders who didn't start, didn't finish or were outside the time limit today, 5 of whom had been picked.

Velorooms: 1138
CyclingNews: 955

Of the 14 teams in this who already had been in the Giro and Spring classics game, Leadbelly and Otoxiep were already first and second on total scores before the Tour started, so their being in the same positions here means the 4 seasons title looks to be a two horse race.

All these numbers, and more

Enjoy your rest day: I'll be trying to get the Emerging Riders games through their monthly updates.

We will all feel that a stage like tomorrow should bring some significant change to the GC projection points, but I suspect most of us fear that the stage may be between rare picks in a breakaway and that Pogacar getting 20 more yellow points is about as much as will be seen.

Stage 11 Cavendish wasn't half a wheel in front this time

Green Jersey
Googolplex, Lecko and Search have Greipel
BicycleBoy, DJSprtsch and Salvarani have Alaphilippe

Lecko remains 2nd, Salvarani stays 4th, Googolplex moves up one place to 6th

That's all.

Yellow points
The GC action was about as notable as the green points in the game.

Will tomorrow be any more decisive in the game? Strongest hints are probably to be found in the weather forecast.

Stage 13 No records being equalled in the game

Sorry it's late: hoping I have the chance to at least post it before the end of today's stage.

Guillaume Martin gained GC 270 GC points, but nobody had him, so the main story will be the points lost by those he overtook. Polka dot points also got a bit of a shake up.

If, as many suspect, Martin is unable to maintain his GC spot, many of these changes will be reversed.

Standings
Even though Leadbelly had the lowest score today, he still has a substantial lead.

Two of today's scorers are in the top ten: Salvarani stays 1st, Del stays 10th.

Yellow points
Guillaume Martin returned to the ninth place he had been in very rapidly, so much of this is simply undoing yesterday's changes.

The teams in first, second and fourth are all VeloRooms teams; all but one of the bottom 12 teams (barring me: I'm neutral in this) are from Cycling News.
So VeloRooms 1256, Cycling News 1050

Riders out of the race (not counting any rest day withdrawals: I haven't read much race news today)

0: BikeRacer33, Del1962, Leadbelly, Lecko, Salvarani

Spreadsheet (this is a dynamic table, not a permanent snapshot to Rest Day 2: in 24 hours time it will have data to stage 16, and not all of these numbers will be verified by the spreadsheet.)

Salvarani was top anyway, and no-one else in the top ten in this classification, but DJS is now the closest to it.

Yellow points
The main GC guys defeated the rest of the peloton, but not each other, so little change again.

When nothing else effects the leading scores much, there is always the daily yellow jersey bonus, which moves the two better performing Pogacar teams up within the top five.

Uran, as the most popular rider in the game, gives lots of negative scores through his fall from the podium .

Standings
The main beneficiary of the day Is Blues in the Bottle, through having Pogacar but not Uran, and the other two Pogacar teams are on the podium.

More of the same tomorrow?

Stage 18 They have now climbed every mountain

I suggested yesterday, "More of the same tomorrow?" More so than ever before, as this is apparently the first time in tour history that the top three on the stage has been the same twice in a row.

Yellow points
It's not only the top three that makes this similar to yesterday, it is also Uran losing a lot of points for a lot of teams and Pogacar moving up the GPM table.

Standings
Now that Cavendish is no longer at great risk of being eliminated by the watch, Leadbelly should be safe, but the two teams chasing still have a confident 40 yellow points and a good haul from the TT to come, so it will probably need Cavendish to get two clear of Merckx for anyone else to reach the podium. Only 1 point separates those teams (Elissonde, Meurisse, Chevalier and Froome bringing one point more than McNulty, Buchmann and Higuita).

I would normally expect a time trial to cause a bit of a shake up in the rankings, but where riders are not separated by very large time gaps, at least towards the top of GC, the better TTer is in front anyway. So tomorrow might see the sorts of scores in the game more typical of a breakaway stage.

Bminchow and I have 6 riders in common, 5 of whom are now DNF...

Stage 20 Time trial that changed almost nothing

Won't change the Green game much either:

The three Pogacar teams are in the top ten overall, but with only 3 points each for them today they don't improve their position, there is a good chance that they will all drop out tomorrow if Cavendish gets that record.

Not a single change in positions, so not much point in a standings table: see above.

A bit later, just so that you could enjoy the suspense (about as much as having Stage 21 in the evening when there is a 5 minute + lead)

Congratulations to Lecko, a first timer in these games and coming away with a win, based on six stage wins (4xCavendish, 2xMohoric as a unique pick).

Congratulations to Leadbelly, and to Shalgo and Amis Velo for filling the podium. It is probably good for the game that a well balanced team with multiple top ten riders and a good sprinter can prevail against teams with a probably predictable (although expensive) race winner who picks up 260 yellow jersey points.

A fairly comprehensive win for Velorooms, which has 1st, 3rd and 5th, and only one of the bottom 11 teams.

Thanks to the riders, the Tour, CQ and PCS websites, and to everyone who took part, and I'll hope to see you all again for La Vuelta in about 3 weeks (and later today, or maybe tomorrow, with some data crunching, but all the numbers are here in the spreadsheet.)
