I don't undertsand why everyone excpects such an outstanding route for 2013.
The 2003, the real 100th anniversary Tour, saw a good parcours, but not an outstanding spectacular one. I don't see why the 100 edition should be different. IT'll be your normal Tour route with the most important classic climbs. Mot more, not less.

There are a couple of climbs that I would really like to see highlighted in the Pyrenees in a TDF. We see them on occasion, but only early in the stage so they are not a great factor. But to make them the conclusion of a Queen stage would even have the Giro looking on in admiration IMO.

Finish a stage with the Col de Menté – 9.4 @ 9.0 %, followed quickly by the Col de Portet d'Aspet – 4.4 @ 9.8 %, then a short descent to the finish line. That would be totally epic as there would be major attacks on Mente, and a further sorting out and/or extension of time gaps of the d'Aspet.

It's CP's signature to make something 'mhe' before a jubilation.2009 Arcalis and other 2 weak stages before the 100'th year of the Pyrenees, and then only Avoriaz and Madeleine (I think, honnesty, Preudhoome didn't expected to be that good) in 2010 for the Alps.
So with 2012 route, it could only be a 'montagne' tour next year.
And 2003 was a good one, IMO.
