Juan Ayuso's time at Coll du Rates has today been beaten by new Danish super talent! His name is the 18-year-old Peter Øxenborg Hansen! And of course he is a rider on Jonas Vingegaard's old Danish team ColoQuick.

Niermann is already making the calls to put this guy on Visma laboratory. He just needs to find the right password for him until 2028/2029.

After seven consecutive 2nd places at the Tour Teddy will beat the youngster with experience!

What are the odds that the OP is the kid's dad?

Zero. It's just that some of the Danish posters on here seem to think people want to hear about it every time a Danish rider farts. Not that I don't think this is interesting news, but since it was already posted by a different Dane earlier, the thread wasn't needed.

Well.....it doesn't sound like it's a new Vingegaard. Here are his own thoughts about himself as a rider:

However, it is difficult for the 18-year-old ColoQuick rider to specify his type of rider, as according to himself he has his strengths in several different terrains.

“It's hard to say what type of rider I am. I'm good at the smaller climbs, which are shorter than a quarter of an hour, but I'm not a mountain rider at all. I just like to drive uphill. I can ride a bit of everything, and you can't say that I'm one particular type of rider, but a typical, versatile Dane."

This is also reflected in Øxenberg Hansen's results list for 2023. In addition to the success in the Ardennes, there have been victories in Danish junior races, where he has won both in smaller groups, larger groups and also drove home alone

We are just missing one thing, to assure that he is the new Vingegaard (he also has the same surname)....we need to know his vo2 max!

So it seems the winning formula is not like they previously though, to be born and live up high like the Colombians climbers. But to be born and live as close to sea altitude as possible and have no climbs around. Only then can you become a true climber.

A much better title would be
Peter Øxenberg is the new Juan Ayuso is the new Jacob Hindsgaul is the new Jonas Vingegaard is the new [whoever had the record before Vingegaard]

Pidcock actually beat Ayuso's record, but that was with motor pacing so it didn't count. I'm not a big fan of these TTT style rides either, because they depend on the strength of the rest of the riders. In this case, Øxenberg was apparently not even the guy they wanted to finish it off.
