Great win for Girmay and cycling!
Lotto Soudal and Fenix both absolutely messed up their tactics and all other teams were afraid of WVA.

But seriously, what was Fenix doing? They have 2 sprinters, both survive last Kemmelberg and then they use one guy Vermeersch (who was litarly covered in *** btw) to do the chase while both sprinters sit there and wait. Congratz on finishing 8th Merlier, you should have won.

According to AF the plan was to not sacrifice one of their 2 sprinters in chasing down the breakaway but to have them sprint both.

Which is weird in any case and even moreso given Philipsen not sprinting at all (for 6th though).

Even though they all made the same statements in the media, i can't help but feel there's some irritation under the surface.

yeah, absolutely idiotic, but the sports director said after the race that "this is logical, isn't it? Just look at the other teams: Ballerini - Jakobsen at Quick.Step, Stuyven - Pedersen at Trek… They were all given their chance too. We have chosen to play out both for the sprint." And as it was so succcessful, they plan to do the same in the Scheldeprijs. Because, as Vermeersch said, "if they could both sprint, we had two chances for the win".

Before the race, Merlier also mentioned that the internal battle with Philipsen is of no importance for him, although he has "one more win" himself - which obviously shows that the opposite is the case,. Why else would he start counting wins of someone else.

It's a bit strange they keep sending both of them to the same races. Merlier did look quite pissed when he crossed the line.

Alpecin is nice team with a good spirit most of the time, and I like Philipsen and Merlier both, but this was rather awful. Altho Jasper probably has more classics talent, with Tim's sprint form in mind he should've helped Vermeersch in the chase. Lost opportunity. I think Merlier will wear different colours next season, even though he remains quite calm under given circumstances.

Mistake to bring 2 sprinters

Lefevre would never take both Jakobsen and Cavemdish to a spring classic (maybe scheldeprijs is the exception but it's hardly a classic)

Philipsen should be on a stage race program this year

In the absence of Vanderpol extra gregario should have been on the startlist to help Melrier

to be fair, they are not completely similar. Philipsen made the initial selection, Merlier not, so it could have been a good move to bring him as well - but on from the point Merlier made it back, the team should definitely have made a call who to go for, for sure

For about 40 minutes, this

was, I suspect, the highest placed black African placing in a race higher than .1 standard

A short lived claim.
Berhane won a stage of the Tour of Turkey in 2013
Teklehaimanot won the KOM at the 2016 Dauphine
Kudus has been on the podium at León, Langkawi and Turkey GCs.

That's off the top of my head.

A short sighted claim.

India has a good record in racquet sports, especially squash & tennis.

Great win by Girmay and great that this talent has come to Intermarche Wanty. It livens stuff up.
Yes, I agreed with you. India also has good records in Hockey, Badminton. I was looking for a site online in which I can find help with my dissertation and found this https://www.topessaywriting.org/help-with-dissertation site link on google search. Also, I found your post where I found information related to 84th Gent-Wevelgem: 27 March, 2022.
