I think I'm correct in saying that Actovegin isn't on the WADA banned list?!? Anyway, regardless, is this a drug which is widely used in the peloton? Is it a performance enhancer? Any of you guys brave enough to admit having tried it?

Just curious, as read a few articles on it recently and find it a bit odd that it's not banned......

The US Postal team used it, TV crews caught them throwing it away in a roadside refuse bin. It thins the blood, apparently if you have a high haematocrit and so more viscous blood then it helps the blood flow more easily through the vascular system. Ideal for a heavy EPO user.

Although the US Postal team did say it was to help skin abrasions and one of the mechanic's diabetes. Don't you love cycling teams and their outrageous excuses?

There is not only actovegin but transfusion material too and around two hundred syringes...
Their mechanics had very bad health, probably too much hard work with unfair employers!
