I never listened to more than a dozen Beastie Boys songs, as they weren't really my thing, but I always thought they were super cool. "Sabotage" and "Intergalactic" are still among my favourite videos of all time.

I've been listening to the Beastie Boys for twenty years, through all my youth and beyond. Not a band that I've played every day, but every odd week. I've always had the impression of good guys doing good music.

Originally perceived as a joke band Beastie Boys went on to establish themselves as one of the most creative and positive groups in rap.

I first saw them on the same night as Run DMC and LL Cool J which still remains one of the musical highlights of my life.

Im so gutted I cant believe someone who never did anything but good has died so young.
