Adverts on pictures

When going onto a thread with pictures, of which some have alot on, I am always having to click the cross at the top of the advert. If I hesitate then a pop up thing will apear. Does anyone else have the problem and how can I stop it (except from not going on threads

It probably varies according to the user and image, I've seen it on some images on my work computer but not others.

All I'll say, adblock is you friend.

That's certainly true, but it is a shame that this site is the only one I visit which has this annoying form of ads.

I was wondering if a mod might take a look at two current threads in the General sub-forum.

Bicycle Lanes

and

hit and run article in the LA times

I'm not quite sure what the intent of the OP was in the Bike Lanes thread, but a parallel discussion between the two threads is taking place, and might be better served under one banner. There are some good posts in both, and the conversation might benefit from a merger of the two.

Cycling safety, and rider responsibility is the common theme between the two.
