Alex Moulton has gone to the great cycle rack in the sky

Must admit I only ever knew the name because of the bicycles. Tried one once and it was incredibly quick and easy to handle. Had no idea he was so influential in the automative industry as well

How important do others think he was in repopularisng cycle-commuting in The UK?

Are F-frames popular in other counties? Was lucky enough to live in Barcelona and Prague for a while and don't recall seeing any there?

Happy cycling mate

Context is everything when talking about Alex Moulton. He innovated within extremely well defined boundaries of a century+ of bicycle design. Not just a nominal improvement either.

Like most things bicyle however, his design broke tradition and bicycle consumers on average aren't willing to adopt to a better design. So, it's kind of an "oh, yeah... That wierd looking bike that works FAR better with barely any weight penalty. Meh. I'd rather ride my diamond frame bone-shaker."
