Lets be honest- we all watch it because of our love for professional cycling, otherwise AGR could well be disregarded has it not held its current WT status as part of the Ardennes-There are currently many races in the calender that surpass it in parcours quality & riders performance/approach. Yes-We're very aware of the the pragmatic approach of "riders make the race-not the parcours" but I simply cannot get completely satisfied with anything that takes place in it- either the teams are stuck to their "safe tactics" by simply not making it harder & bet for the last 3K to work it, or the leaders & wildcards are too discouraged by the lack of aggressive racing & prefer not risk it with long range attacks......
something MUST happen to this race in order to make it more interesting- either make it much longer & hillier to wear the riders out -- or very short, so the riders have some urgency to make attacks. perhaps a limit number or riders too could help... I don't know.....
