Any advice on Zpeed wheels?

Hello everyone,

The local bike shop is offering me an interesting deal on the 2013 edition of the 42 mm alumunium wheel set by Zpeed. You can see the specs in Dutch here. The 2013 catalog is available on line, but I can't open it in any of the browsers I use.

There isn't much information on Zpeed in the internet, at least in the laguages I can read. Does anyone know this maker? Any experiences you can report?

Any suggestion on alternatives? Thank you.

Question: what do you want out of a new set of wheels? And what, in rough figures, is your budget?

Hi rgmerk thank you for droping by. I don't have a proper wheel set at the moment, I had a pair of Racing 3 but the back wheel failed and I need to buy a replacement.

There are no serious mountains near where I live right now, so weight isn't much of on issue. On the other hand I'm yet to adapt to winter in northern latitutes and am quite overwieght at the moment (~ 80 kg). The mechanic tells me I would profit from a wheel set with some profile to reduce torsion.

My budget is interval is [400, 600] €, which essentailly translates into a good set of alumnium rims.

Thanks.

Fair enough.

In my limited experience reliability and durability of wheelsets depends on a large extent to how well they're screwed together and how well the manufacturer supports them post-sale; I can't comment on either in this case but I'd be checking the warranty carefully.

This is diverging a bit from the topic, but just to detail this situation. The Racing 3 pair was bought in second hand, no warranty. This time it'll be different.
