According to a Danish reporter the bone in his fingers were showing.

He is having surgery, transplanting skin from the hand to the fingers. They don't know yet whether he is can start tomorrow!

Some person along the road accidentally (hopefully) lost his newspaper and it got stuck in CAS' wheel. When he tried to remove it his finger(s?) got stuck, and parts of the wheel hurt him bad.

One of the bravest rides i ever seen, CAS is a hero ! He almost pulled a Hoogerland !

CAS have been operated under local anesthesia in Toulouse.
He says Stratoni dropped the newspaper in front of him and he cut his fingers when he tried to avoid the paper from blocking his wheel.
He is allowed by the doctors and he want to continue but doesn't know yet how things will be once the anesthesia takes of.
