Well, Conte isn't stupid and surely you'd have to be a complete moron to use nandrolone (or encourage your athlete to use it) if you know you're gonna be drug tested?

According to the news source referenced, 80% of positives from 98-03 were for nandrolone as a result of contaminated supplements. Wonder if it's true.

It sounds like a plausible official "truth", but not the actual truth.

Those look like a couple of great fighters, to bad, love seeing good matches.
As for Conte doping them, no way. If he still is in the doping racket, his customers never would have been caught. Conte is probably clean right now.
Why did Wada and the US doping authorities not take Conte up on his offer to catch dopers?

Probably because Conte is a detestable scumbag who can't be trusted.

One of many, who sell supplements. Remember, in the final judgement against Contador, the authorities blamed Contador with using contaminated supplements. That was Hamilton and Zirbels' excuse, also. Remember also that Conte know the players who develop untestable PEDs, he understands the game.
If I would want to catch cheats, I would use a cheater to help me. No matter how slimy and dispicable.
IMO the drug testers worry to much about their countries image and their own image. It takes a thief to catch a thief.

BD, I want clean sport. Top down, bottom up.

What is the problem with that.

As for the puppet, I guess your mind is made up.

What a coincidence! Not so long after Floyd started pushing random, Olympic style testing, two high profile fighters are positive. In Golden Boy's stable.

Berto and Conte seem to be covering for each other. Berto has said that he took some supplements without telling Conte about them. Conte, in turn, has said he believes that the positive test resulted from a contaminated supplement.

I suspect it was not a supplement, but the level of drug in his urine might provide some insight into it. There are studies on supplements showing the range of nandro contaminant levels. The best they can do, though, is probably what Hardy did. Hire a couple of good labs, like Don Catlin's, to test batches of the supplement that Berto said he took. It really won't prove anything, but if any of the batches come up positive, that will be a big victory in the PR battle for Berto.

In any case, I agree with those who think Conte would be a complete idiot (up from the 80-90% idiocy he showed in his past) to give any of his clients PEDS. But then again, having specifically requested the random testing program, Berto would be a fool to take a PED. He might have been clever enough, though, to take a PED and also keep some records of supplements that have been shown to be contaminated in the past.

It would likely have been a great fight, and I think it's totally unnecessary to cancel it. Just stipulate that Berto can't win any belts, just as if he failed to make weight. The idea that a fighter on PEDs is too dangerous is a flawed argument, for many reasons.

Conte's other big name client is Nonito Donaire, the possible heir apparent to Manny Pacquiao. Hate to see him get ensnared in this mess.
