What are those cyclindrical things at the top of the bag? They look like pieces of wood that could be sharpened to deal with vampires.

This one isn't going away ... and is political power issue now ...

Fanini: inaccettabile la conferma della squalifica di Bani

Keep in mind that Ivano Fanini with Amore & Vita (Love & Life) is running the longest living Pro. cycling team in the world, saw the light in 1990 from the Vatican stand against abortion.

Rome- Sabato 13 Marzo | 10:17 | "Shameful Decision" - exclaimed the disappointed owner of Amore & Vita - Conad - is a defeat for those who fight for groped to stop doping and cycling in general. Confirming this ban, despite the shocking confessions of Bani is not fair.

In the past there has been discounts (see case of Emanuele Sella) and in this case nothing. It is to think that everything was already decided and carefully manipulated by someone very high up. You can not, I repeat, that the complaint Doping of a team organized to the smallest detail and made directly by management and by the team manager against underage boys, are not considered.

It's absurd that these murderers go unpunished, while a person who has been the real victim, not is considered a minimum of gratitude for having collaborated. reported by Bani People do not deserve to remain in this environment.
"We can not tolerate those who play with the lives and health of kids, I think it would take not only a fine and important subsequent removal from the sport, it would take the jail. And instead nothing, so have the chance to spoil who knows how many other boys. But we realize that here we face the No.1 company in Italy Juniors in recent years has won everything (including two world)? And as a former professional sports director had already struck for a positive anti doping in a race of amateurs (albeit to the same substance of Bani) who, as an example and put them at ease while the boys waited in the queue their "care" from the refrigerator (scenario similar to that of drug addicts), also underwent the administration of these injections and pills posing as vitamins. We are really dealing with a simpleton, such a scenario compassionate and who should stop these people now pretends to nothing and simply hit Bani.
Then, it's even worse to read a newspaper as important as the Repubblica in an article written by a famous journalist, experienced and respected as Eugene Capodacqua who said they had heard, while on bicycle, a cyclists (leading figure in Federal, ie one that matters and decision-making power) to say "You'll see what will happen and that with Bani and Fanini.
Do you realize? I now invite the prosecutor's office to shed light on this story as serious and scandalous because that's not right to pay this guy and that is just me and my team are without retaliation just because I decided to help him and why I fight against the doping and against certain systems which are convenient to most people living in cycling. A gentleman who has left to escape these threats indirect Capodacqua to myself, I say that if it's really part of the FCI as is rumored, should immediately resign and instead of thinking about making me look bad end, he should think about making a good job prosecuting those who deserve it (see Cavallini dell'Ambra States) and that really irreparably destroy the world of cycling. Eh I think I'll pass on putting any money in that guy's pocket.

According to Strock he and Lance never had the same coach, soigneur, etc.: "We were staggered as juniors — he was a year older than me and never fell under this coach (Wenzel)." Quote from the VN interview with him but I get your point.

Read closely. He says that Lance was never under Wenzel. But also note that other coaches, including Lance's ended up in the suit. Note the intrusion of the lawyer at the point where the question leads to Charmichael. Not a coincidence, as if you start attacking Charmichael you fall directly into Lance's sights, threaten the myth and open yourself for aggressive, well-funded legal problems.

If you want to read Lance to Landis without putting money in David Walsh's pockets, I can certainly link you to online sources of that material.

SA cyclist, 16, in dope shock
Wilhelm de Swardt
24/01/2005 - (SA)
Johannesburg - News that a 16-year-old cyclist has tested positive for the banned hormone, EPO, has sent shockwaves through the cycling fraternity.
Michael van Staden, who rode for the Northern Free State's ACIZ CPPA team last year, was tested during the South African under-16 tour in Ermelo last year. He ended fifth overall. As far as is known, Van Staden is the youngest cyclist in the history of the sport to be found guilty.
Cycling South Africa found him guilty at a hearing in December last year and he was banned for a year, but it was suspended for two years.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Cycling Federation have apparently asked Cycling South Africa and South Africa's Institute for Drug Free Sport to re-open the case. It is thought they are unhappy about the sentence.
The deputy chairperson of Cycling South Africa, Dave Bellairs, was upset on Monday that the matter had been kept quiet for so long.
He said: "I don't have all the facts at my disposal, but I think we will have to have an open discussion about South Africa's junior cycling activities.
"Someone will have to take responsibility for what has happened - maybe the parents, the cyclist himself or the coach or team manager," Bellairs said.
Chris Hattingh, one of South Africa's foremost experts in the use of illegal drugs in sport, explained that EPO was a hormone that stimulated the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. The more red blood cells an athlete has, the more oxygen will be in his blood.
Hattingh said athletes had a pronounced advantage if they used EPO.
EPO is found naturally in a person's body, but modern tests can show if the levels have been stimulated artificially.

young Eugenio Bani set free

Monday, December 20 | 16:39 (4)

Eugenio Bani case, the TNA cancels the remaining suspension

The National Anti-Doping Tribunal set aside the remaining cones disqualification of Eugenio Bani then in theory the guy might already use today.
It was initially sought the opinion of the UCI and WADA, but these organs have the ball passed back to TNA indicated as unique institution to decide the fate of Bani. And so the hearing set for today, the President of TNA, dr. Plotinus, has issued its ruling on the following grounds.
The Bani has first and last names of people involved within his former team Amber Cavallini Vangi, such as to have caused the referral of the same
He added that the evidence through the testimony of the young athlete are such that the court reserved the right to charge the same names involved in this story.
That his work was considered so effective that it is the main reason for the cancellation of the suspension.
"Justice was done, this is the best Christmas present we could receive and to me is a great victory. Now let the boy free to choose, "said Ivano Fanini, owner of Amore & Vita Conad and adds, " made the last race between the junior and must evaluate whether to make him two years as an amateur or make the jump between the profs in my team "
And now we have to return to Eugene to see the sport he loves, with a new mentality but especially with the enormous desire to be able to prove his worth on the field than the true principles of sport.

Carmicheal settled out of court with the riders. They took USA cycling to court and won a settlement of $250,000 each

http://velonews.competitor.com/2000/12/news/strock-speaks_79

This was a sad era of USA Cycling. If you had the talent to be competitive, but your parents did not have the financial means of sending you to races that were thousands of miles apart, and you were unwilling to participate in what was a proven criminal sham, you went nowhere. There were dozens and dozens of young cyclists with a ton of talent and thankfully more brains, that went through the US OTC, that told Chris and Rene to shove it up their rears. I hope to have a convention of our lot someday. There will be some good laughs if all plays out, in the coming months, the way many of us are hoping for.

If this plays out it will be a small amount of compensation for many young riders from our area that got similar treatment. As a rider with no interest in a pro career (reinforced by the experiences of those riders) it was never a surprise to me that PEDs were part of the sport. The amount of hypocrisy within USA Cycling, the guys that took the organization over and the pros that profit obscenely from the franchise they've created has been a motivating factor in my anti-doping attitude. That more talented guys didn't get their deserved shot is the real crime in all of this. That, and that a group of crooks and Carnival barkers can control this sport with such impunity are inequities that need to change.
I hope you get your convention and I'd like to attend as a long-time supporter.
