Trek got the sprint nearly right this time, but Merlier was just too strong.

I don't think necessarily that sprint was a true representation of pure speed.

Was very messy with a headwind so merlier coming out at 70m to go gave him a clear advantage over those like Pedersen and vanpoppel who went early.

Jumbo and Bahrain totally messed it up and DQS were nowhere as well

Ewan is one of the only sprinters who can beat Merlier on full speed, but he got blocked a couple of times. Merlier made up so many ground in the last 50 meters.
