Paolo Bettini has won a lawsuit against the German broadcaster ZDF, which in 2007 had launched heavy doping allegations against him a few days before the World Cup in Stuttgart. The court of Bolzano has made 'a finding of falsity' of the news and the attitude held by the issuer defamatory condemning compensation for financial loss in addition to legal costs'.

No matter what you might think about Bettini, his stance regarding doping etc - I remember those reports clearly and they were nothing but defamation
