Bike rental in COSTA RICA (Monteverde)

I am considering a visit to my daughter in Costa Rica in March-April this year.

I am debating whether I should take my 18 year old mountain bike, which has served me well up to 5240 meters in Bolivia and 3100 meters on Mt Washington (Utah, not Vermont) ages ago, when an extra "bag" didn't cost much on airplanes and leaving it behind in Costa Rica ( where I know somebody who could use it) whether it would be a better option than renting when I get to/near Monteverde.
In spite of my usual neglect I recently discovered after a thorough cleaning that that bike still works amazingly well (CrMo steel), 3X7 speeds, and a choice of 2 pairs of wheels.

The problem is that I intend to stay about 4 weeks and at my ripe old age no cycling for such an extended period barely 3 months before summer would put in jeopardy any epic ride in the Alps in 2012.

Thanks for all/any suggestion in Spanish, English, French or even Portuguese, forget about Breton.

Thanks for the info.

Costa Rica is the richest central american country, but the prices quoted on both those sites are really staggering. Bike rentals above swiss prices and look at this
$3395 (per person, includes 8 days, 7 nights, 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 4 dinners, vehicle transfers, luggage handling, van and guide support, maps and route notes)

I don't know any cyclist who would consider paying such inflated prices.

Anyway, thanks, I'll keep looking.

High prices and theft are the two main problems of that country so I recommend you take ye-olde MTB so you don't have to pay for a rental or attract too much attention with a flashy rig.

I might come to the same conclusion ... unless somme Costarican rider offers to loan me his spare MTB for a decent price :)
