Boogerd Blisters Landis

This was interesting - and likely deserves a thread separate from the Landis/Kimmage dialog:

Michael Boogerd denied doping allegations slung at him by Floyd Landis, who mentioned the retired Dutch star in an interview with Paul Kimmage

Like who is Boogerd kidding?

Kohl implicates top cyclists: report
Kohl, who was banned last year after testing positive for EPO CERA, told Austrian investigators that Dekker and Caucchioli had used blood-doping centrifuges acquired by his former manager Stefan Matschiner between 2006 and 2008, Kurier wrote, based on Kohl's interrogation transcripts.

"He (Matschiner) told me later that cyclists Michael Boogerd, Thomas Dekker and Pietro Caucchioli had used the machines in exchange for a one-time payment," Kohl apparently said.

Dave.

More blasphemy from Kohl and Landis, bitter, jealous, angry, etc. *** edited by mod *** Typical. Jealous of success.

I am worried about your health. You might want to seek professional couselling.

Trying to pretend there is no doping in cycling is more hopeless than foolish.

It is silly to attack Floyd for merely confirming what is already known.

What are you saying, no doping on Rabo? Or, that you will stop at nothing to bad-speak on Floyd?

Can I suggest caution on what you are trying to defend? Otherwise, your arguments may appear agenda driven.

It's just a case of mild masochism. Flicker hates all the negative publicity surrounding cycling yet feels the urge to log in everday and post in the clinic.

I like Rabo, Boogard pretty much all Dutch cyclists except for Thomas Dekker. I put him in the Ricco category. Yes I am biased, wear rainbow glasses, am a masochist and need therapy. Pretty typical of all cycling fans and hardcore cyclists, no?

Somedays I like Floyd sometimes I don't. I sure did like him when he said to legalize doping. Pure honesty, really I knew he loved the dope. He, and many other athletes.

:D

Rabo... I have already asked Colnago if they can repaint my $BLING carbon Rabo ride. (Insert something about typical response)

Love the bike, but makes the $F'ING price tag all that much more difficult to justify.

"Jellyfish" is an insult in Dutch? Ik hou van Nederlands.

If most of your country is basically below sea level, then yes, I assume jellyfish to them is what dog poo is to us. A nuisance of nature.

Someone help me! I am beginning to see pro cycling now as just a peloton full of snarky high school girls sniping at each other constantly!

The Giro can't come soon enough; I can only hope that watching one good mountain stage in the Dolomites (on mute so I can't hear annoying "suitcase of courage" blather) will help me regain the magic...

Nah, it is more an indication that someone is spineless, arrogant, untrustworthy and the like, not really a very harsh insult. More a general view of someones personality, really most things aren't even real insults around here until diseases or genitelia or something are brought in.

I thought this was a sarcastic joke until I read further into the thread.

I honestly fail to understand how anyone could have said this with a straight face.

He's really descended into full-fledged trolling. I've had him on ignore forever, only reason I saw that is because you quoted him. Pretty much disgusting. Not sure why he is still allowed to post here as he's entirely useless.

Pwah. Boogerd is best not opening his mouth to keep his horse teeth covered.

I thought it was common knowledge that he and Erik Dekker were way into the blood 'enhancement'. Landis/Kohl comments were and are no news.

Yeah, especially Dekker. The peak in the latter stages of his carreer. Amazing. From a working horse to a big contender for classics.
Boogerd started off with some decent results in the Tour, but never really evolved beyond the stage of being a talented rider.
If both were juicers, which I do not doubt, I think Dekker was the most thirsty of the two.

Seriously, what gives with Landis? He trashes another rider, who may or may not have cheated. Let us say Boogard did cheat. What is the point of ruining Boogards' reputation?

I know the reasons people here like Landis and I respect their opinions.
What is the point of singling out Boogard?

I do love the part of the USPS riders lying down getting their blood fix with their transfusion kits duct taped to the walls.

Just two things I need to know. Were the boys on the bus watching the "Italian Job" featuring Micheal Caine? Was Floyd listening to ZZ Top playing "Pearl Necklace" while staring at a photo of Sheryl Crow taped to the roof of the bus?

There is no point in that, you're right.
Now flip the coin: what's the point in saving Boogerd's reputation?

Landis was not trying to make any point there, so don't ask what the point is.
What he cares about is not Boogerd's reputation. He's merely exercising his right to speak freely.

And even if he was trying to settle some score with Boogerd, then good for Landis.
Landis took the fall for a lot of juicers, so who are you to deny Landis his feelings of revenge?

As some already established in another thread, Landis doesn't feel a need anymore to protect anybody's reputation. He doesn't care.

Sorry my point here is I thought Floyd had an agenda. I also thought men like Kimmage, LeMond and Walsh had an agenda. I thought Landis was following their anti-doping/lets clean up the sport agenda.

I guess what you are saying and what Armstrong said "Landis is off the reservation.," is that Floyd has become a renegade, sniping at whatever duck or prarie chicken he can flush from the bush.

I don't really know which is worse a witch hunter or a renegade.

Looks pretty bleak for our sport.

A renegade? I like that one.
Just let there be someone to empower Floyd (just as Bassons has been empowered), and he'll be the new sherrif cleaning up town.

So I'd recommend you do not forget who the good guys are. You might need them later on, when the **** goes down.

Ruin what?

Anyway, I heard that in addition to spending more time with his family:

He's hooked back up with his mates in Depeche Mode:

The early lipstick years are still disturbing. Wonder if his teammates ever gave him **** for that?
