Another one bite the dust, well another average rider gets busted but don't worry they're doing it to catch up to the top riders who are clean, what a joke. See you in two years Gabriele.

Edit: Rhubroma, I was about ten seconds too late

Absolutely no surprises again, I have been suspicious of Bosisio since his performances at Giro 08, he was a nobody who was riding well above himself.

When I watched the Giro this year and say LPR on the front day after day busting themselves, I was not impressed as to how a bunch of nobodies were flying along like that. But then again, we always felt LPR where dirty as hell but what do we know, we are just a bunch of conpiracy theorists.

Who is more dirty, Phonak or LPR?

It is not a matter of which team is dirtier. The large, successful teams have to be the dirtiest. For Phonak and LPR it is more a question of which team is more incompetent. LPR has a long way to go before reaching Phonak's level of incompetence.. With Phonak you wonder why after half a dozen riders were busted, the riders on the team did not figure out how to be more careful.

Precisely what I was about to post. Is it dumber to keep using CERA when it's clearly detectable or keep using homologous blood transfusions when they're detectable with 100% frequency and there's an equally good alternative (homologous) available?

I'd say phonak.

Bosisio was never a great talent at any level, and at the juniors even a mediocre climber. I was very suprised by his performances in 08 and 09. I rather not suspect people based on nothing though. But this doesn't come as a suprise

Johnny Hoogerland = the next Bosisio

This one is a little off topic, but is there much of a connection between the Old Phonak crew and the current BMC squad?

I see a few familiar names associated with the team - Alexandre Moos, and John Lelangue. Is this going to be Phonak all over again?

Nope, it's Serramenti's De Bonis. Caught for that old EPO stuff, first stage of the Giro.
Dodgy blood values placed him in the spotlight.

I meant more in the rider-out-of-nowhere aspect.

Anyway: De Bonis, De Bonis... Now who did he ride for? Must've been one of those dirty teams.
;)

I was always a little suspect of LPR. After signing Diluca and Petacchi so quickly it always seemed like they were set up solely to allow dopers to compete.

See BroDeal's thoughts on De Bonis. I like the term "fingered"...

The best thing about this thread is being reminded of Francesco De Bonis. He won a stage of Romandie in 2008, being in a break that was caught and then attacking the leaders' group repeatedly after being caught. Soon after that he was taken off the road, and wasn't seen again that year, because his team felt like there was something up with him and he would test positive.

The team? Gerolsteiner. The guy was too suspicious for Gerolsteiner. The team that had Sebastian Lang saying Schumacher was upset at the CERA test being developed but the rest of the team celebrated it, only for two more riders to be caught for it. Of course De Bonis had been recommended personally to Gerolsteiner by Davide Rebellin, and followed him to Diquigiovanni for 2009. And when Davide disappeared? Francesco followed.

The story of De Bonis' subtlety is one of my favourite ridiculous doping stories that doesn't come out of the Iberian peninsula.
