Could a brother get some help from a mod???
I'm trying, but the damn trackpad is too sensitive and keeps opening the thread instead of the title box. I'll ask another mod to fix that for you.

If the truth is what sets us free then bring it on. It is apparent that the current investigation has actually persuaded riders to tell the truth as there are finally real penalties available in civil law. The war on doping seems to be much more effective when pursued in civil courts. The financial burden of prosecuting these offences becomes the interest of the general legal and court system instead of a anti doping budget supported only in the sport.

The recent Tyler and George testimonies will help remove the curtain but I have still not heard much about the target of the investigation? Will Lance get charged with any crime from this revelation? Will anyone if they can't prove the charges? We might get the truth about who was taking doping products but that is not what the investigation is trying to prove. They are trying to prove that Sponsor money was used for doping. If all they prove is there was doping but they used their own personal assets would any charges be laid besides a couple of perjury charges?

This should keep us entertained for a long time yet.

Yea, if the gov is looking into wire fraud and the like, The Hog based his team here. I am not positive that we have an extradition treaty with Belgium, but my guess is that even if he leaves, they would send him back based on the crimes it is suggested they committed.

For info:

Treaty said:
Article 2. Extraditable Offenses
1. An offense shall be an extraditable offense if it is punishable under the laws in both Contracting States by deprivation of liberty for a maximum period of more than one year or by a more severe penalty.
2. If extradition is requested for the execution of a sentence, the sentence originally imposed must have been deprivation of liberty for a period of at least one year or a more severe penalty.
3. The following shall also be an extraditable offense:
(a) an attempt to commit one of the offenses described in paragraph 1 or the participation as co-author or accomplice of a person who commits or attempts to commit such an offense]

My concern is that the UCI and the media are trying to make it that USP/Disco were the one bad apple and to minimise the impact on other teams and the UCI.

What is important is for 60 minutes etc to pick up on the UCI angle, pick up on the likes of Och, etc who are very nicely flying under the radar.

As I've said before, we've had so many false dawns, that I can see a situation in 3 years time where nothing has changed.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner! Winner! Turkey dinner!

One myth going down, the federations are next. This needs to happen more than the myth going down.

I don't see the IOC giving a damn. The IOC is the moral equivalent of a Nike. Look at all the fraud in Track and Field and nothing is changing there. Boxing anyone? Still an olympic sport. IOC desperately needs content and cycling attracts a large enough audience for the IOC.

I have the feeling that he(Bruyneel) will be the dead sentence for LA in front of the GJ-since the doping evidence pointing out at him is indisputable-I foresee a dirty tactic on LA's camp to blame JB for all the trafficking & logistics behind the PED's-just resulting in a complete battle of finger pointing between those two.

You should pretty much count on that happening in some form or fashion; look at the people involved: LA, BS, BK, + TW as the Wizard of Oz, and of course LA's 2 alter egos as cheerleaders tweeting away mindless drivel. . . "We Might As Well Win . . . + Dope, Lie and Cheat"

Aren't you an attorney?

Seriously, could you picture this? JBl in handcuffs, taken off an airplane and into US custody? That would be something.

Not yet. I just finished my first year. I have about 0 desire to look into anything relating to law right now. I refuse to watch Law & Order right now.

I think Alpe was saying about trying to influence the media - I think one of the important points is to not let the likes of Och etc continue to fly under the radar. With all the focus on Armstrong (because its the biggest story) - the bigger picture painted by Landis is in danger of being lost.
