Hi,

I am struggling on some big climbs at the moment, will I get a 12:30 cassette on a centaur 10 speed derailleur - currently have 26 & need to lighten the effort & would like to change the cassette only if possible.

Thanks

John

Seems you can buy a 29t cassette for Campag 10-speed, so that might be OK. 30t might be a stretch for the jockey wheel to clear, but might be able to adjust the "b" screw to get it to work.

In any case be careful with the chain length if you go 29-12 (wide range). Arguably a better to be a link too long than too short. Either is only really an issue when you're cross-chained, but it's worse if you are too short as that will bend your rear derailleur and/or hanger. Being too long might lead to chain suck.

Edit. Found a 12-30 Campag cassette here:

Make sure the chain is the right length..just enough chain for big-big combo, and it'll work fine. Done it many times on customer's bikes.
