Carroll Shelby, the legendary car designer and champion auto racer who built the fabled Shelby Cobra sports car and injected testosterone into Ford's Mustang and Chrysler's Viper, has died. He was 89.

God Bless, RIP Carroll! You brought us some of the most exciting cars ever created. Met the Ferrari and Corvette challenges and prevailed, with some of the most voluptuous, and beautiful (not to mention, god awfully fast) cars ever seen!!
My heart still races when I see these cars in person. Thanks for the memories!

He was indeed amazing. The Cobra has to be the coolest car ever made.

I like the way the Viper and new GT brought him back somewhat (or his vision at least).

Alpe, how do feel the new GT was related to his vision? I assume you know that the GT40 was not a Shelby design.
