cyclingnews.com - "Michael Rasmussen will head the CDC-Cavaliere team for 2010 according to Biciciclismo. Next season, the team, known as Centri della Calzatura in 2009, will step up its status from continental to professional continental. Rasmussen will race with Daniele Callegarin, who moves from Centri della Calzatura and Bernardo Riccio, who is transferring from Flaminia."

My favourite part of this article was definitely the last paragraph:

"Rasmussen has been racing in South America with Tecos-Trek since returning from his two year ban after lying about his wherabouts during the 2007 Tour de France"

OK, I'm confused. I originally read this, then I saw an article on CN where he said he didn't sign with them. As a mater of fact he mentioned that he hoped this news didn't derail his negotiations with his new team.

Anybody want to take a wager that it's Astana?

(Only kidding on the wager.)

I don't think that a Pro-Tour team will risk signing Rasmussen. He´s marked by the UCI. So, my guess is that he will be going to a spanish or italian pro-conti team. Andalucia-Casajur, Contentoplis and Flaminia are the most probable, I guess.

Can anyone enlighten me why he is a marked man (question mark key is broken)

He always seemed a bit slimy but the UCI has overlooked some top class sliminess and welcomed back riders with open arms. I must be forgetting something... his crimes seem obvious but pale in comparison to Vino and others who have + tests along with sliminess.

Yeah I thought it was pretty clear where he was during the 2007 Tour de France. Does the CDC in the team name stand for Cera Dopers Club?
