Contador did a study of all past champion's changes that brought on tremendous success. He decided to adopt them all in hope of becoming a champion TT. He started with
1. Improving his seating position and pedalling style to bring on 20% more power (Riis reasoning for his power in 1996)
2. Lowered or Heightened his seating position a few mm (Armstrong's reasoning for his change in power during last 2 mountain stages)
3. Did a wind tunnel test on his TT machine and trained a little more in the TT's to bring on a minute or 2 difference (too many to name)
4. Began eating rice instead of wheat (Garmin)
5. Gained a few kg's of muscle mass so he could compete against Cancellera in the TT's, but have limited effects in the mountains (usually riders cut weight, but already being low he decided to try the opposite).
6. His Grandma's lollies seem to have a positive effect on him mentally and physically (excuse of doper's who are caught)
7. Has the power of or is possessed by Andrei Kivilev/Fabio Casartelli with him that helps him ride like 3 men (Vino's/Armstrong's reasoning for their power to win).
