The Coppa Bernocchi route will be slightly shorter in 2024 than in previous years. While the distance in the past often approached two hundred kilometres, the race is now 174.3 kilometres long. Another change compared to last year is that the start will again be in Legnano, as was the tradition before.

From Legnano, the race will move to a local circuit. This circuit is reached after about 35 kilometres of racing, is 16.5 kilometres long and must be completed seven times. The circuit contains two climbs. First there is the San Pancrazio (540 metres at 8.2%), then the Piccolo Stelvio (1.6 km at 6.2%).

When the circuit is left 22 kilometres from the finish, the riders must also cross the Ceppine (480 metres at 9.%). This is the last climb where the difference can be made, because afterwards it goes downhill again slightly to Legnano.

Roglic been reading how washed his flat sprint is, so like any good scientist he's going out and test the hypothesis
This assumes that we're getting a sprint, and that Bora won't give Adrià the nod on account of form + this not being a big race.

It's a short race, but with the flat finale tactics will simply play a role.

Race is so small too that Roglic might even attack
He needs to drop Matthews, after that he can cruise along and depend on his sprint

This could be a very interesting race because the profile suggests a reduced bunch sprint but most of the better riders here wouldn't want that. I suspect we might see a surprise winner when all the big favourites look at each other and not follow it

Last time remco did this race he won entirely thanks to the excellent support of Fausto masnada ( who held on to finish 3rd!)

Would be nice if he thought to repay all his teammates hard work today
I would love to see Fausto, remco, Cattaneo, vansevennent in the attack.

Coldest take in history
I'm a bit concerned because he finished 2nd here last season and he's done better this year than last. Luckily the field is better this year, so I don't think he'll podium. Solid 5th-8th imo, another to add to his comeback in the most amazing race

I've never watched this race before (I live in the States where cycling TV coverage is pretty woeful), does it usually have such a stellar lineup?

Having said that Alessandro Pinarello for the win! :D

Only 26km left to go and due to a late start of coverage I didn't get much of a feel for this race, but the scenery looks nice and green, and the streets are pretty quiet.

(Mandatory scenery comment.)
