Anything Phil Liggett has to say about doping needs to be put in the context of him being the PR arm for the greatest fraud the sport has ever seen for over a decade.

Now I don't think the guy is stupid, per se, so he definitely understands his role has not changed. He is tasked with maintaining the thinnest of smokescreens like some geriatric necromancer.

I just wish Phil and Paul would take their 90s patter and bore off. But he's part of the establishment. I'm just waiting for the day that LA is given a commentary role. It will happen its just a matter of time.

Based on the past, the unending line of public denials, you are absolutely right. The risk of being labeled a hypocrite 15 years later seems not to be a deterrent of any sort.
