as a motorcycle, you're a motorised vehicle and should be in the middle of the row with the other motorised vehicles
nothing worse than trying to ride through traffic and with all these motorcycles and scooters clogging up the spaces or diving up gaps they don't fit - i've seen several cyclists hit by motorbikes and mopeds in this fashion...
A motorcycle has the same rights as cars: if you can overtake another vehicle without leaving your lane, it's your right - as cars do overtake slow 50 cc scooters. No difference in traffic laws.

And the same goes for bicycles as well.

and there in lies the crux... while you move down between the two rows of cars, criss-crossing the lane lines on your motorcycle, are you indicating when you change lanes or making illegal lane changes?

to be honest, I don't give a sh*t, I just hate motorcycles/mopeds clogging the gap between the two rows of cars in bumper to bumper traffic. Unreal that they never seem to work out that they won't fit til they have their front wheel between the tail-lights of the cars in front and their mirrors n fairing inches from said vehicles...

But you can do that on the car lane as well!

I always get mad when passing a row of cars with my motorcycle and they aren't really in line, but half on the right and half on the left part of the lane, making overtaking impossible.

And that's where riding a bike (We do agree that a bike are the one without motor, right? That's a real bike) on the biking lane is great. Cars can't get into the biking lane that well. (Especially not those with something between the biking lane and the car lane.)

Unfortunately even here there are problems with people in vans apparently thinking "Hmm... I don't wanna take up place on the road, so I'll just park on the biking lane!" "THEN YOU JUST TAKE UP PLACE ON THE BIKING LANE YOU BLOODY IDIOT!!"

In my mind a perfect biking lane is about, 1,5 - 2 metres broad, has something that stops cars from entering it, obviously has new smooth asphalt and maybe two-laned meaning that, like with the car lanes, the outer is for overtaking. Maybe that could bring an end to those people (often young girls on those silly "grandma bikes") who think that you should ride two-and-two and talk! (that type of people often has some magical skill so they can go really slow without falling...)
