There are some posters here attempting to explain away Armstrong drug use as "everyone was at it". Which is simply not true.
Back in the 2000's the French we very vocal about "cycling at two speeds".
These comments were swattered away by Armstrong, Bruyneel and the UCI.
Many French cyclists knew what was going on at the time but not only were they at a distinct disadvantage against the rampant drug use from USPS and T-Mobile they were told "they didn't train hard enough", "were lazy trainers" and "didn’t know how to win".
Armstrong was worse in his condemnation of the French - testing positive for being "as+holes" I believed he said once.
Without dope we would have seen many French victories. Alas the sport was destroyed.
