Finally, after months, even years of silence, you're back with dynamite on the doping front. Nobody can accuse you of having gone against an American rider, as they did last time, because French are so anti-american and jealous of US champions. You haven't openly accused Longo either, but Papp's statement is damning.

Well, thank you, and maybe good bye. After smashing Armstrong, you had Americans against you, now it will be France. Good bye l'Equipe in a few months. My Three Musketeers: Ressiot, Walsh, Kimmage

Do the French care about cycling in any other month than July?

A winner for sure. No arguing her palmares uo to the EPO era. Politically and socially, I don't recollect her having much of an impact in cycling.

French care about Jeannie Longo. Medal of "Légion d'honneur" this year in January.

Check the results in December 2010 according to a poll managed by l'Equipe:
http://www.tns-sofres.com/_assets/files/2011.01.15-top-sportifs.pdf

Jeannie Longo is 4th most popular sportsman in France.

Couldn't find same doc, but for June 2011, she is top of the list according to this article:
http://www.kateia-sport.com/jeannie...rancais-4307c0c7ddc6c7df1a3f58d698858c30.html

You're right, most of the people loving her don't understand anything about cycling nor doping, but they see longo as an example for youth and for their nation. Now, however the outcome of this story, she has a big big problem.
