A couple of years ago he was ripping it up.

yeah, but Milram are just freaking me out. Obviously all of their riders are on the minimum plan, and Ciolek is showing that he is pretty ordinary, not the wunderkind he was touted to be. This raises questions on what the heck he was doing at Columbia last year.

Speaking of Columbia, I'm interested that Tony Martin can stay with the leaders on the climbs and leading the sprints out at the same time. Surely he will lose time in the Alps.
