Has anyone from England (or elsewhere) visited the Jorvik Viking Center and/or been to the festival? I'm thinking about making a trip to visit (from the US) and maybe time it with the festival....??

I visited the Center (not the festival) more than twenty years ago. I thought it was terrific, but obviously can't comment on it now. This summer, though, I visited the Viking Museum in Oslo, which was absolutely brilliant, and the Viking museum (which coincided with some festival) at Roskilde in Denmark, which was also very good.
