Apparently he never got over Galvez' death. Very sad that he (still) blamed himself. One crash, two lives taken.

Poor guy, I feel for him as he obviously took this very hard. He valued someone elses life more than his own.

Mick Rogers:

Sorry to hear about Dimitri De Fauw. I rode a year with him in Quickstep. RIP Dimitri.

Jean-Marie Dedecker (not the most trustworthy man in Belgium, but still) came with a different explanation next to the reason being De Fauw couldn't get over Galvez' death.
He claims De Fauw was was spat out by other riders and teams after he made a testimony in the case against Quick-Step. According to Dedecker De Fauw got depressed when he couldn't find a new team. Dedecker tried to get him a contract at Topsport Vlaanderen, but even they didn't take them and this seems to really upset Dedecker.

If true it puts the case in a different perspective.

he may not be trustworthy, but lying on the back of somebodys death would be abhorrent.. on this one i think there is probably a lot of truth in it...

interested to see Joe P's views if hes around..
