Just checked. It's an hour long programme about Tom Simpson and his death in the 1967 TDF on the Ventoux.

ok, I feel a bit stupid, but how do I go about downloading it from the site?

hey

first you get a a program so you can download torrents.

just google utorrent. its free and its a very small program( a couple MB's) then install it.

after that register yourself on cycling torrents(username pass all that stuff) then download the torrent and when it asks you where you want to save the torrent instead of choosing save choose open(with utorrent)

then you have to wait till its done.

if you need more help just say here.

Yes it was. So good in fact that even my girlfriend, whose eyes glaze over the moment I start babbling about cycling, was engrossed in it. And is now firmly of the view that professional cyclists are completely insane.

Nice start. Now, if you can persuade her that a romantic weekend in Belgium in April is a good idea you are on a winner;). Wait, that was me last year going to LBL until that pesky Volcano :(

5 minutes in and they say that Tour is the most difficult event in cycling because its the longest and because it lasts 3 weeks. Umm dont the Giro and Vuelta last and measure the same.

If the The Tour is harder, its because it has the best riders performing at their best, not because its longer.

Or was the Tour longer than the Giro in the 60's?

I think I might have some difficulty selling her on the romance of Belgium.

If you want to convince someone on magic of Flanders, show them this film http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Bruges

If you want to sell the romance angle, its got that covered too. In fact, dont mention anything about cycling. Just say you want to see this city (Bruges that is) and after seeing the film she will too.

On Easter Sunday you will suddenly find out from the local hotel owner, that there is apparently some big cycle race going on. You will no doubt act surprised.

The added bonus is that i hear Bruges will become very central to RVV over the coming years. I think its going to be the start point or something like that.

I normally find that mentioning the availability of handbag shops works!
