Debranding a saddle

Just read article on Contador's TREK Tour de France bike. It shows the Selle Italia SLR saddle first as a Team Replica and later as an all-white "debranded" saddle. Does anyone know how this is done as the all-white result looks really good?

Andrew.

Someone like Contador gets them from the manufacturer with no logos. Selle Italia knows people will figure out what saddle it is anyway, so I doubt they mind doing a little custom work.

Nope.

That saddle comes to Contador in stock form with all original markings intact. Contador's mechanic, Faustino Munoz, removes the badging by hand with some solvent.

Debranding saddle

James,

Thanks for your reply. Do you know (or would it be possible to find out) what solvent he uses?

I would bet that a natural citrus based solvent (orange oil) would be the solvent of choice. Very effective.
