Didn't 'Milli Vanilli' have to return their award as well?

The comments on that site are pretty harsh. Seems few in Austin are fond of Lance. This one was especially interesting:
Are you kidding me?? The guy dumped his wife and left his family behind, then cost Texas millions of dollars in "cancer research" that won't even involve anyone actually monitoring all the money to make sure it all goes to actual research, and not embezzled or stolen by people who have no intention of using it for actual cancer research. There are NO guards in place to prevent the money from being mis-used. Thanks alot Pal.

"It don't matter who's in Austin, Bob Wills is still the King."

The peanut gallery is a fickle bunch, eh? Five years ago, all those comments would have been positive, hindering on man-love.

"You just can't live in Texas unless you got a lot of soul."
Must be why someone moved to Colorado. :D

Texans are nothing if not experts in the "What have you done for me lately?" area.

It was my impression that even five years ago, a lot of Austinites hated "King Lance", mostly because they had actually had to deal with him or his Foundation on some matter.

Like most other Texans who move here and try to 'spend their way into being a local', many of us hate Lance too; probably even more than we dislike the average recent transplant from Texas.

Some fun Coloradoisms:

The best thing to ever leave Texas on its way to Colorado is an empty bus.

When someone decides to leave Colorado to move to Texas, the average IQ of both states is increased but a little bit.

Colorado, bastion of intellect?

Of the top 100 Nationally ranked Universities according to US News, 4 from Texas (Rice 17, UT 45, SMU 56, TxA&M 63) appear on the list before any from Colorado (School of Mines 72) then Baylor at 79 before UC Boulder at 86 with TCU at 99 finishing the list. Seems like the the notion of Texas as an intellectual vacuum are specious.

One thing Texans love. Being from Texas.

and... Somewhere in Austin. A Village is missing its Idiot.

with such notable quotes, as:

"Sadly, the Austinite of the Year doesn't know how to tip properly."

Perhaps, if he had taken advantage of one of the "four top 100 colleges" in Texas rather than holding pat with a high school education... just think... he could have majored in Ethics 'Texas' Style.

and,

"Hmm. He doesn't even live here anymore.

When he left for Vale he mentioned that Austin wasn't the same city as when he first moved here. I thought at that time we let the door hit [him in the Asspen]"

But certainly not the notion that Coloradans arrive at the race in the 'short bus'...

Is that ranking based on academics or football?

Edit: Or animal husbandry?
