Lol, in 2008 and 2009 that was barely a chase. More a procession of favourites marked by Tommeke.

Attacking on the Kwaremont and riding ahead for 30k when nobody is chasing after you is really hard idd

Devolder was practically gifted 30s when he attacked before the Eikenberg as everyone was looking at Boonen soft-tapping. Then Tom did a brilliant job of marking the moves after the Muur and Bosberg. There was no concerted chase from the moment Devolder attacked as the break was brought back before the Eikenberg.

2009 was softer still.
