something to hide? The guy was dropped from the national team last year. maybe looking for the extra edge to get his place back?

Deserves a big, big ban on the face of it. It will be interesting to hear how the altercation came about, strange things do happen.

However, generally speaking, for a guy that smashes into people for a living to physically intimidate an official is totally unacceptable. Shame, he is (was 2yrs ago) rediculously gifted.

I wouldn't be surprised if clinic related activity was rife in rugby.
