That was a very good stage, with Herrera taking the yellow jersey and Fignon winning the stage and taking the third overall position.

The 80s and Fignon provided cycling of several videos and great moments.

Plateau de Beille 2007. The most stunning uphill finish for the last 10 years maybe. Cycling in agony. The sport on the edge of transusions and CERA eras. A devil mixture of both methods embodied into cosmic wattages. I bet Lance remembered his 2004 and looked at these guys with his mouth opened. Viewing is mandatory.

Courchevel 1997. Festina started on brand new life threatening anabolycs and slaughtered the peloton on the Madeleine.

Heck for a long time I recorded the Tours on VHS too. With such a global informatization, now it's funny to remember about that. :)

Great thread now we're hitting turbo season. Looking forward to watching the Festina '97 one, and nice work from Jens to find more coverage of the Landis Morzine stage.

Tre Cime di Laveredo, Giro 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlXeeWi4-Pg
Anyone found any earlier coverage than this, from where Mazzoleni attacked? I think I actually have this whole Giro on VHS somewhere :D

Requests:
-Monte Pora Stage 19 Giro 2008 - Di Luca/Savoldelli raid.

-Tour of Flanders 2005 - Boonen, PVP, Zabel, Klier, and Armstrong looking menacingly strong trying to bring it all back for George when he missed the move.

- Olympic Road Race 2008

1992 Milan San Remo Kelly v. Argentin

Thanks for the nostalgia of the 92 Milan San Remo. I was less than 100 meters from the finish line that day. I remember the "sigh". I remember the crash. But most of all I remember the look on the faces of Argentin and Kelly... they could not have been emotionally any farther apart. Thanks for taking me back.

One of my favorites is this video of the day Greg LeMond gave away the 1985 TDF to Benard Hinault... the last French Tour victory. It's hard to convey what an enormous deal this was in France at the time. It's one of the reasons the French still love LeMond. If you can stand the overly dramatic commentary of John Tesh, it is worth watching.

full footage of ricco on aspin, love him or hate for any reason of the many he gave us, watching this guy climbing is just orgasmic. i don't know what i love more, if the ridiculous acceleration, or the simple increase of the pace on the drops to drop lulu and monfort. no amount of doping gives some1 such a beautiful style.

a shame only a few use the drops for climbing this days, i can only think of nibali, evans and valverde and even them is only every once in a while and not all the time like ricco.

I love this one for 3 reasons:

1) It's Robert Millar and he was also first over every other climb of the day (the last of the great climbers?);

2) Greg cracking big style and Fignon digging deep sprinting for the line;

3) Hampsten, catching and passing Greg without a thought of helping him.

OK, make that four. I've still got a Z Jersey that fits;)

José Manuel Fuente's last-ditch attempt to go from three mountains out - again - to claim the 1974 Giro.

The end of the 1980 Olympic Road Race at Krylatskoye Ring, the biggest international triumph of Sergei Suchorutschenkow, probably the eastern bloc's greatest climber. More for historical purposes than anything else, since the video doesn't actually show how he came to build that 3 minute lead (or how Barinov and Lang came to be several minutes up on the bunch either).

I think Soukho and Barinov, among other Soviets, if they came to the West, could have dominated
