He also auctioned his Tirreno jersey off with the proceeds going to the Japan Earthquake victims. Does these things regulary.

a friend of a co-worker just picked up one of David Millar's former Garmin race bikes for $5G. It has "D. Millar" painted on the top tube. This BMC of Cadel's looks pretty sweet. I could never afford that.... hey, if 500 of us chipped in $20+ we could buy the bike for ACF. Too bad that would be too complex to work out.

Don't be silly...that's ridiculous. Anyway, I definetly would be too big for that.

Good of Cadel to auction that off, hope it helps out some people.

So would that be a cycling fashion/gear no-no..to ride a world champion's bike if you didnt earn it. :D...refering to the "Should you wear team kit's" thread.

riding the bikes are fine, just not wearing the kit ;)

although, you can't get replicas of Evans WC kit anyway, so it would be impressive if you had the bike and kit - This is ACF's mission, should he choose to accept it.
This post will self destruct in 10 seconds

Wasnt there some Evans prize or something controversy which cycling news claimed they would give away but didnt announce the winners?

It was a nice thought on his part. Too bad I would have never contributed:p

Well, I suppose you are right. :D I see you are a practical man in wanting a bike that would fit you so you could ride it, as opposed to some conversation piece you could just hang from the ceiling and look at.

Not just that, I certainly wouldn't expect some randoms on a forum to chip in money to buy me a world class bike rider's bike.:p

Also up for Auction with four days to go, 3 signed sky jerseys all limited.

Including a normally unavailable British National Champs Jersey.

but its been in my sig for a week so Im sure you all know. :D

Well I've put a bid in, though as it's a charity thing I'll probably get out bid.

I'm quite into my sporting memorability - I've got signed stuff from Pele, Ali, Bradman and DiCanio (the last one is personal). I want some cycling things though. Next time the British road race comes to Abergavenny, I'm going to be there at 8am with a jersey and a marker pen.

Yes. Considerable time elapsed between award of prize and then names of latter winners appearing on this forum.

Considerable prompting by various interested parties was required...
