extreme downhill gear

hey, watching redbull rampage evo, and am wondering what pedal/ shoe combo they use? do they use clipless pedals or they old style pedals and sneakers? They seem to be able to have good control, but the ability to remove the feet when ever they need to. Any more infomation would be great.
