favela downhilling

A year or two past, I came across a vid of somebody doing basically a downhill run in a Rio de Janeiro favela. Whoa - pretty hairy stuff.

Since then I've seen a few more takes of similar stuff - enough to believe this is going on regular, and organized.

Take a look at this vid, start at 3:05 to make sure you catch the real start at 3.08, ok? Then find some links to similar vids, or sites, or whatever.

Actually - maybe it is called favela downhilling!

Searched that on youtube. Lots of hits. This one is scary:

I would choke on that one. I see they had enough sense to wrap some of the signposts - but still way too many ways to go wrong. I'll leave this one for the young guys.
