Haha yep, I would consider Greipel, EBH, Farrar and maybe Hushovd to be faster than him.

I think Greipel is the only one that can challenge Cav when they are both on form and I think Greipel has a faster acceleration but Cav can keep his top speed a lot longer. EBH and Farrar imo I don't think so but I think in a uphill finish Hushovd is faster unless it is stage 5 Cav. We will see next year if either Cav keeps dominating (which I think will happen) or if other sprinters start winning.

No one else things Sagan could do it. Hes already won 2 gt stages and hes 2/3 of the way into his first gt.

His problem would be that with the cobbled and ardennes classic schedule he might not be doing the Giro too much.

I think he can at least get 5 in each if he ever does the Giro.

Hushovd is way past his sprinting best, no way would he beat Cavendish in a normal sprint. Boasson Hagen is also more like Hushovd as he is not a pure sprinter and can get over most climbs, but at this stage of his career obviously he has more raw speed than Hushovd has.

Farrar is fast but way too inconsistent.

Petacchi has the best chance of doing it, but at 37 I don't see him winning 4 more stages of the tour, so it will probably be Cav. He can get the 3 more in the giro next year, and can get 7 in the vuelta within the next 3 or 4 years. Petacchi's run out of time, but Cav is still young enough, and has plenty of time.
