Hi first time poster long time reader,

Im looking at jumping over the channel to check out a couple of the stages of this years Tour, specifically stage 18 and 19. I was wondering if anyone has any experience as to how to get from one place to another. Is there any sort of bus service offered. Is hitchhiking a possibility? Is it easy to do?

If anyone has any tips or suggestions, or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

ps. I'm not much of a rider so taking a bike is out the question:)

The Col du Galibier consists mostly of wild countryside, so public transport won't be easy to sort out since there are very few POIs on the route. Alpe d'Huez on the other hand is a popular destination so it is quite well-served, being connected to Grenoble.

Transisère (FR) is a public coach company serving the Oisans valley among others.

Of particular interest to you may be this line:
3020 - L'ALPE D'HUEZ-BOURG D'OISANS-GRENOBLE

Bonne chance! :)
