They didn't get much market share - I seem to recall there were some fork failures. Catastrophic failures, if I recall correctly. Otherwise, they were certainly trying to go in the right direction. A little ahead of the curve. They also (again, if memory serves) had some weird non-standard threading, which made parts difficult.
