He will go on the Carrefour de L'arbre, since there is absolutely no need to go from further. He will be by far the strongest in the race

He will probably not attack further than 50 to go nor wait ultil 20 km, it will probably be somewhere in between

He'll lead the pack from 254.5 to go, attack from 150 to go, and drop whoever is strong enough to hang on his wheel with 95 to go, with 50 to go he'll be caught be a select group, and he'll leave them in his dust with 20 to go. And win by 10 minutes. :D

Oh! Also...he will do it in pouring down rain. Officially giving him a permanent place as a legend of cycling!
:p

I'm waiting for the office pool. I get no payback for guessing in a poll!

But my thinking is he is going to see how things develop - he will have a few spots picked out - but he will wait to see if everybody is marking him.

I voted for the Carrefour. Cancellara is super strong, but it's not going to be an easy race for him. There isn't a single other rider who'll have the confidence they can match him next sunday. It's not impossible we'll see a repeat of the 2011 race.

Multiple attacks option? Same as today, first attack/selection 50km to go, last few guys will get dropped at 20km.

Wow, who will even be up with him?

I choose 50K but now looking at the competition, he can wait longer.

Best counter strategy will be to leave his team out in the front the whole way and not have any team hit the front for any reason till 20K.

Nobody chases the breakaway group, but at Arenberg Cance begins to chase down their splintered factions with no one bothering to follow. He slowly reels them in and finally breaks Voeckler with 5k to go. Only fifty finish.

Vino attacks everyone said:
He aint no Vino, so I picked 50km, just for the fun of it (watching OPQ, Sky and all the others chase him without result will be hilarious)

:p

Sky will be better organised this year if Fabian goes early. Not a Skybot fan but last year I was yelling at the TV for them to get organised and rotate rather than just letting Stannard try to drag the chase group back. Absolutely dumb DSing/team orders last year from Sky. Stannard admitted as much in a recent interview. I'd like to see him get a good result next Sunday. He deserves it.

Probably a headwind finish going by long range forecast, but Carrefour should be ideal for him to frag whatever is left.
He is such a massive favourite maybe its too obvious. And with Roubaix there's always the luck factor.

Wild horses couldn't drag Cancellara back. The Sky approach works perfectly for GTs (although they've won just 1 GT so far...) but for classics mathematics aren't everything.

I'm not advocating that Sky can stop him just that Stannard won't let the team repeat last year's inept Boonen chase.

He will ride everybody off his wheel in Arenberg, stop shortly to pay respect to the miners. Will ride on and the forum will go haywire because everybody will scream "What a BORING race" :D

As soon as he's isolated, he'll take off.

In PR the attack is the best defense. Without Boonen & Ballan and with Pozzato in a crappy shape and Flecha almost ready retirement, there is no way any of the 2nd tier cobblestone specialists (Vanmarcke, Boom, Vansummeren, Stannard, Hayman, Hushovd) will hold him back.

Hopefully Devolder is able of keeping a breakaway withing reach after Arenberg.
