Garmin 800 or 810 in this day age ?

Fellow cyclists, What do you think of the Garmin edge 800 (not 810) for use in this day and age of road cycling ? I have a few opportunities to get one cheap. or should I pay for a bit more and get the 810 ?

thx

The biggest difference between the two is the smart phone connectivity features of the 810, otherwise they're pretty much the same. I got the 810 for the livetrack feature where I can enter email recipients in the app so when I start a ride or race they get a link and see exactly where I am on a map and my telemetry. It can also send a link to facebook or twitter. The other feature I use often is being able to upload routes on the fly from the phone to the unit. If you don't need all that go with the 800.

The 800 is pretty old and apparently Garmin aren't the best at supporting old devices. I would take that into consideration. I have an 810, it's great and I bought it mainly because it could hold loads of maps and I'm happy with it but I don't use a lot of its capabilities.
