Garmin Edge 510 broken connector tabs

Hello forum folks,
Help needed please. The connector tabs on my 10 month old Garmin Edge 510 snapped off on a mud ride recently when I braked extremely hard. The bike stopped the 510 flew off the mount (supplied out front mount).

I am in Australia and Garmin support has basically said Ha-ha. I spoke with customer support here a guy named Andre who I sent pics to his gmail address. Been 10 days now and not 1 word from Garmin.

Researching this on Garmin forums shows it's not an uncommon problem. garmin USA seems to replace this on warranty while garmin Oz just ignores people.

Anyone else had this happen or know anyone that works at garmin who can suggest help?

Had the same thing happen to me.. they offered a discount on a refurbished one..
seems like the know about this issue .. built to fail as the warranty expires...

Isn't your warranty 12 months? Just take it back to where you bought it?
