Why do they not mention the name of their medication / malady each time I read something like this?

independent testing undergone over the last few weeks which has shown that my low cortisol level was caused by my 100% legal, declared and prescribed allergy/asthma medication

Which I won't name, for some obscure reason. Nor give details on how often I take it.

I don't think many fans will know that having low cortisol levels is an indicator of doing anything untoward, until they read good Bennett's blog.

And it's indicative of what exactly? Out of competition cortisol (ab)use? That isn't illegal is it.
Bennett not doing himself a favor here, me thinks.

and why does that blog have cannondale in the background.
doesn't he ride for Lotto Jumbo NL?

he makes a fair point though about how twisted the system is when teams like Sky have no low cortisol levels to worry about.
amazing how Walsh never held Sky accountable for not being MPCC.

wonder who the cannondale/united health/greenedge/lottojumboNL rider is with the 51 hematocrit.
girona still a nice hub for dopers it seems.
(Other Lotto Jumbo guys also like to train there)

I rode 30 hours, 20,000 vertical meters with effort sessions like I’ve never hit before. I’d shaken a kilo and mentally reached a new height.
Still a long way to go, George.

44 to 51 - assuming it was a WADA ABP level test and done properly - is close to a 20% increase. I ain't buyin' it!?

I lived like a monk at the top of a mountain. Man alive. This guy doesn't want to give you any details at all, does he?

to be fair, it's closer to a 15% increase, which is still alot though.
I remember reading altitude can give you 3-8% increase in VO2 max, I don't know how that translates to hct increase.

yeah, typically beating around the bush with anecdotal stuff.

wouldn't be surprised if the 44 to 51 hematocrit is actually concealed biographical info.

http://www.georgebennettcycling.com/blog/2015/5/28/giro-ditalia Good read on his thoughts about current system, drugs and on TUE.

Bennett could have just shortened the whole post down to "wish I was riding for sky or another non mpcc team".

I can go with his rant about the unfairness of his situation. But his brief acknowledgement to the history of the sport (you really mean current day too) as to why people would ask questions about him, then to go off firing shots against fans a'la Wiggins 'you're all bone idle wkrs', is not really doing him any favours. Be more angry at all the dopers and doping enablers in the sport.

Abit like someone needs to give George a we lesson on marketing, don't attack the fans. The fans are very important and make stick up for you if super mutants from various teams make you look second rate!. Problem is with alot of these riders is seem to think people forget about bad old days. Bad old days, why fans are not as trusting with all excuses, combined with *** behavior towards them.

I don't believe it. He had to go away and get concrete proof ? Why not just come out and state what you have been taking at the time rather than go away to get proof ? Translates as had to go away and come up with a quick excuse and get my story straight and for that I need to thank my agent who knows what to do otherwise I could have given away what I was actually at !

He is right that if he was at another team he could have ridden....he needs to be having a go at those that have not signed up not the fans.

Expect LottoNL to suddenly go into Astana mode. Gesink, Ten Dam, Kelderman and Kruijswijk all to top 15 in the Tour with multiple stages win and a surprise podium for Gesink

Is there a baseline that we can consider and then compare against to test this expected increase in performance? Some easily digestible metric readily communicated and understood?

Is % of CQ points as a team one such thing?

Team Mumbo Jumbo and everyone else were fine with the MPCC as long as it was simply free PR with no cost involved. This was to be expected, so I hope the other teams don't give up, if any of them were serious about it in the first place.
