Of recent memory probably the angliru stage in 08' may have been harder, but there been harder stages over the years I'm sure.

Fwiw there have been way harder stages in the giro in recent years also.

Good one, very tough. But still gap from 1-20 was about 3.30. I think 2008 gap was about 6 min between 1 - 20, of course That isn't always indicative. Collectively super hard.
