I genuinely had completely forgotten Rubio was in the race, one of the most Zubeldia-esque performances of all time.McNulty, Rubio, Yates and Majka came very close, but Meintjes is a worthy winner.
Sadly he finished mid pack in a couple of mountain group sprints on Stages 11 and 19, and then Q36 randomly chased the break down on Stage 17.I genuinely had completely forgotten Rubio was in the race, one of the most Zubeldia-esque performances of all time.
I would say that his breakways to secure the KOM jersey in the 2024 4 jours de dunkerque, after quickstep left him at home for the giro, was extremely professional.Fausto Masnada.
He looked like a professional rider for the first time in years.
Agree though as he wasn’t in poll I voted for SimonThe moral winner is clearly Van Aert. His standing going into the race was the lowest it had been in five years, he was nowhere near his peak for all of it, yet his crucial work for Yates after Finestre + his stage win + piloting Kooij to two stages means he still goes down as one of the MVPs.
