Gran Fondo NYC-May 8th, 2011...

This sounds cool. I've done parts of this route over the years, but to do it in a Gran Fondo setting I think will be amazing.

Anyone else planning on doing it?

With a potential field of 8,000 riders I'm assuming the roads will be closed to traffic.

The entry fee is $195 dollars (not cheap for roads I can ride anytime for free) but you get a jersey that must be worn for the fondo.

Let's get some feedback from the cats out there who live in the area.

I no longer live in NY but have ridden many of those roads. Sounds like it should be fun. I'll consider it.

Giving it some thought as well. If I can swing a trip it will either be the NYC GF or the Mt Baldy ToC Etape.

I'm starting to scrape together the funds now to see if either are doable!!!
